The course is directed in such a way that graduates will be ready for employment having gained knowledge of the areas of law, legal procedures, definitions and terminology relating to those areas of law, typing and word processing and production of legal documentation and related correspondence. To achieve optimum results, Jobs and Training's course also includes interview techniques and resume preparation to ensure our graduates are "job ready" and able to secure a position within a legal or quasi-legal environment. Course DurationThis course runs over a 15 week period, Wednesday to Friday from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Course Pre-RequisitesEntry pre-requisites include the following competencies:
Job PlacementJobs and Training's Human Resources Division offers a placement service for graduates of the course. The placement service is free of charge to its graduates. Course OutlineThis course includes: Comprehensive Course NotesComprehensive course notes are provided during the course covering all theory aspects of the course. CertificatesAll graduates, on completion of the course including assessment of assignments and passing of the exams, will be presented with a Certificate IV in Business (Legal Services). Students who do not complete the course are able to be provided with a Statement of Achievement of completed assessed modules. PortfolioAll students will have a complete portfolio of work produced during the course to keep. It will contain work relating to the areas of law and the administration involved within a legal environment. Students who wish to have samples of their word processing work must supply a USB drive for this. Units include:
Recognition of Prior Learning / Current Competence (RPL/RCC)For those with current experience, but no formal qualifications an RPL/RCC process can be undertaken. This involves the provision of evidence guides for candidates to complete and the assessment of a portfolio of evidence. Youth Allowance/Abstudy/AustudyThis course is approved for Youth Allowance, Abstudy and Austudy.
